MY ENGLAND STARTING XI

As the Premier League season runs down attention will turn to the European Champions in France this summer. Most fans will have their opinion about who should be in the starting lineup and who definitely shouldn't, There will also be those who would take the likes of Marcus Rashford after an outstanding introduction to the Manchester United first team. I am first and foremost a Manchester United fan, but I love football and love seeing top players from around the world. I hate, bias when it comes to rating one player over another so I will bring this outlook to my England starting XI. So here it comes, There are the obvious candidates from Leicester City and Tottenham after their outstanding seasons, but other clubs should also have representatives in the team. I went to see England at Wembley against the Netherlands and despite the loss there were several fine performances that cemented a place in my XI for a few players.

There's been a lot of debate about whether to even include Wayne Rooney in the squad let alone start him but I feel that England's best chance of going far in the Euros is for him to start behind both Kane and Vardy. He's one of the best passers in the striker position and could certainly play in either Vardy or Kane. Ross Barkley and Dele Alli have been fantastic this season. Barkley has finally shown the player that he could be and Alli has been a revelation. Eric Dier has really impressed just in front of the defence and the central defensive partnership of Stones and Smalling gives us two fine players on the ball at the back. Both Rose and Walker have bombed forward for Spurs this season and have been key to the success of Spurs. Joe Hart has to be the number one. He's the best English keeper and one of the best goalkeepers in the world. We need a goalkeeper with experience of making key saves.

Let me know what you think of this team. Who would you start?

I'm back

I have been away from this blog for a few months now, and I decided to delete a load of articles that were quite old, and start again. I will be putting a lot of work into this blog over the next few months to get it back up to where it was. I will post all sorts of content on here from music to sports to politics. I am on twitter if you would like to tweet me about any of my articles. I'm @NeilJIrving24. I hope to hear from you soon and would appreciate any feedback from you. Also if you have your own blog I'll have a look if you let me know. I will be updating my other pages on this blog.
